Craving some summer barbecue? We got you. The Atlanta metro is home to several great options and styles, from barbecue with Asian flavor to Texas, Memphis and Mexican takes.

Here are our six, saucy favorites.

City Barbeque

Eight metro Atlanta locations

What started as a single backyard dream in 1999 has grown into a brand with more than 70 locations across 10 states, built on craft, community, and genuine hospitality. Guests can enjoy a range of slow-smoked classics, including brisket, pulled pork, ribs, and smoked chicken, paired with signature sauces. Popular sides include mac & cheese, coleslaw, green beans, and other house-made favorites, all prepared fresh daily.

Wood’s Chapel BBQ

Summerhill, Atlanta

As of May 2026, Wood’s Chapel unveiled a new “Tex Mex” barbecue menu after researching the Lone Star State and stumbling upon a favorite: Valentina’s Tex Mex in Austin. Now, fans can choose between classic meat plates of brisket, turkey, and pork, or opt to try barbecue Texas-style on a bun or Mexican-style on housemade tortillas.

Lewis Barbecue

Ansley Park, Atlanta

Lewis Barbecue from El Paso-born pitmaster John Lewis is another chance to try smoked meats prepared Texan style. Take a walk or bike ride on the Atlanta Beltline and stop in for a plate of brisket, which they’re known for, plus delicious sides, icebox pies — and a secondary menu plus cocktails across the breezeway at Bar Lewis.

Heirloom Market BBQ

Smyrna

Described as having “a slight Asian accent,” this Smyrna eatery offers classics like brisket and pulled pork alongside spicy Korean pork, sweet and smoky wings, and gochujang-rubbed spare ribs. Sauce options include Kitchen for spicy fresh and Korean for sweet heat, plus classic mild and vinegar. Dine on the patio or take your order to go, as Heirloom has limited seating.

Fox Bros. Bar-B-Q

Various locations

With locations in Brookhaven, the Battery, Toco Hills, DeKalb Avenue, and more, you’re never far from Fox Bros. Invite a crowd to sample the varied menu of not only classic ‘cue but also chili, salads, loaded fries and plenty of sides.

Big Shanty Smokehouse

Kennesaw

This award-winning, Memphis-style barbecue spot is lauded for “killer” spare ribs and three signature dishes: the Smokehouse Bowl (served on a bed of Fritos!), rib tips tossed in Memphis dry rub, and the Spudzilla, a heap of brisket on a giant potato. Come hungry.
