Pet-Friendly Things to Do in Atlanta

Atlanta is the perfect place for man and man's best friend. Between all the pet-friendly restaurants, new dog parks and events for both you and Spot to enjoy, there are plenty of places around town to make the Peach City into the Pooch City.

Restaurants

Grindhouse Killer Burgers: bring your dog with you as you enjoy specialty drinks, cult movies and sports, some of the best burgers in town and views of Piedmont Ave. Water bowls are provided for your dog.

Park Tavern: With many events throughout the year for man and canine, Park Tavern is a great place for you and your dog to relax after a long walk around beautiful Piedmont Park.

Amsterdam Cafe Parkside: Located between Piedmont Park and the Atlanta Beltline, Amsterdam Cafe offers a shaded dog play area, vine covered patio and a bike rack.

Dog Parks

Piedmont Dog Park: With the amenity of separate areas for large and small dogs and a 3.5 acre run, there’s no reason your family can't enjoy time with the pup here. The newly renovated park, located in downtown, is an oasis for your dog to run freely without a leash.

Lenora Park: Located in Snellville, this park features a designated dog area, where the dog can roam free without a leash, and also has a 1.5 mile paved trail where, on a leash, the family can enjoy a walk or light jog through the park.

Sweat Mountain Park: This park became the first off-leash dog park in Cobb County when it opened in 2006. It has separate enclosed areas for large and small dogs as well as a bench for owners to sit.

Events

Pups and Pints: Wild Heaven Beer in Decatur hosts Pups and Pints on the third Thursday of every other month. PAWS Atlanta receives $3 from every tour to go toward their mission of caring and fostering animals.

Woofstock: Enjoy a free event with you favorite four-legged friend with dog contests, food trucks, pet vendors, live music and more each May in Suwanee and September in Smyrna.
