It’s no secret that Georgia is recognized for its exceptional business-friendly environment. In fact, Site Selection has named it the number one state for doing business for nearly a decade consecutively. That kind of reputation undoubtedly attracts companies of all sizes to settle in the area every year, establishing headquarters, distribution centers, customer service operations and more, while other companies look to expand in the area. Here are some of the most recent big business moves to our fair city and its surrounding areas.

PrizePicks

PrizePicks, one of the most prominent daily fantasy sports operators, will invest $25 million in a new headquarters, a 33,000-square-foot facility to be located in Midtown Atlanta. Approximately 1,000 new jobs are expected to be added over the next seven years thanks to the project, which actually will be an expansion for the Atlanta-based company that was founded in 2015. PrizePicks offers daily fantasy sports for the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, WNBA, soccer and esports. In 2023, the innovative company was ranked as the fastest growing sports company in North America by Inc. 5000.

Resia

Resia, a real estate company specializing in developing, building and managing multifamily communities, will build a state-of-the-art 252,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Fairburn, investing more than $25 million and bringing 150 new jobs to Fulton County. Resia prefabricates components of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems that are designed to tighten construction timelines, improve quality control and address the increased demand for affordable and sustainable housing. The company’s new facility will focus on fabricating bathrooms, kitchens and wall modules. Resia also is expected to begin construction this year on a new multifamily development, a 12-story high-rise with 456 units in Doraville.

OneDigital

OneDigital, an insurance brokerage, financial services and HR consulting firm, will relocate its corporate headquarters to the 300 Galleria Building in Atlanta in anticipation of business growth and expansion. OneDigital’s corporate teams will relocate from the company’s previous home at 200 Galleria. The company will lease three floors of the 20-story building and receive signage rights, promoting OneDigital’s brand in lights and providing visibility from Truist Park and The Battery. OneDigital’s 13-year lease at 300 Galleria includes 70,445 square feet of space with opportunities for expansion. The company plans to relocate corporate and local teams to the new building by mid- to late-2025.

Doowon Group

Doowon Climate Control America, an auto parts manufacturer and supplier, will build a new manufacturing facility in Metter, creating 200 new jobs in Candler County. Doowon Group specializes in designing and manufacturing automotive climate control systems, including air conditioning systems for electric cars, hybrids and internal combustion engine vehicles with advanced technologies. The company will invest $30 million in the new facility located in the ­Metter-Candler County I-16 Industrial Park and will supply its systems to Kia Motor Manufacturing Georgia and Hyundai Motor Group. Operations are expected to begin in 2026.

SOLARCYCLE

SOLARCYCLE, an advanced technology-based solar recycling company, will invest an estimated $344 million to build a first-of-its-kind solar glass manufacturing facility in Cedartown. The facility, which will create 600 new jobs in Polk County, will have the capacity to make five to six gigawatts worth of solar glass annually. It will be the first in the country to use recycled materials from retired solar panels to make new solar glass and fill a gap in the country’s supply chain to build more solar panels in the U.S. The facility, located at Cedartown North Business Park, will begin construction in 2024 and be operational in 2026.
